It was great to meet Julie T. Wallace when she was an Autographica guest for their event held at the Birmingham Hilton Hotel in September 2009.  I had a chat to her about acting and she signed my The Living Daylights litho and also my Bond Girls book.

Best of all, I was on her table at the Gala Dinner. She has a really super personality and I enjoyed hearing about some of her experiences as an actress.

Julie Therese Wallace was born in 1961 in Wimbledon, London.  Her father was the famous Scottish actor Andrew K
Keir, best known as Professor Quatermass in Quatermass and the Pit (1967), among his many (mainly Scottish) roles.  Her mother, Julia, was an actress as well.  Julie also has two brothers and two sisters.

Julie grew up in Wales, and after leaving school, trained at the London
London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).  Early appearances  on stage included Beauty and the Beast in Bristol and The Worlds at London's Royal Court Theatre.

In an Evening Standard interview (link below), Julie reflects on the results of stubbornly remaining outside the usual actress stereotypes. "When casting directors want a big, butch woman for a role, they call me," she says. She also reveals that she would love a regular role in a TV 'soap'.
