Sue Hodge with Ciaran Brown
Sue Hodge is married to former Whiskey Mac musician Keith 'Paddington' Richards.  Their touring stage show is (according to their website) "a witty insight behind the real scenes of what actually happened in the making of one of the greatest and best loved T.V. series ever ('Allo 'Allo!), combining clever comedy and music to make a memorable evenings entertainment".
Sue Hodge's talents as a singer, dancer and cabaret artist are also utilised to good effect in the series.
Diminutive Mimi, with her hair a ball of curls, replaced Maria as one of Rene's waitresses, and got the job because she was really a secret agent for the resistance. Like most of the young females in the series, she falls instantly in love with Rene!
The name Mimi comes from the role for which Sue is best known - Mimi La Bonq in 'Allo! 'Allo! She appeared as this character in no less than 61 episodes of this long-running comedy series, between 1987 & 1992.
Sue Hodge was born in 1955. There is little point in me writing about Sue's career when it is summed up so well on the first page of her website (click this link)
It was lovely meeting Sue Hodge at Memorabilia in Birmingham in November 2006. She was very friendly and chatty, with a 'bubbly' personality.  Like the other cast members of 'Allo! 'Allo! she also signed my first edition of The War Diaries of Rene Artois.
