In an interview, Clark described how he felt being an actor featured on a T-shirt, and as an action figure, "You know, it's fun. I'm jazzed more for my friends and family, I love it!"   When asked about being on the film poster he was clearly delighted.  "I've been in the business for a long time. I've done several series, I've done other work, but I've never done a Romero film, and I've never been on the poster. I had to call my friends, 'Yo, check it out, check it out!' It made me feel good."

Eugene Clark was born in Los Angeles in 1955. His interest in acting began when he was a boy, but later he concentrated on American football when at the University of California in Los Angeles. During 1977 and 1978, he played in the Canadian Football League for the Toronto Argonauts.

Clark then concentrated on acting, building up a lengthy filmography, as a look on IMDb will reveal.  Most of it has been TV work, especially in series like Night Heat (1985-89) in which he played the part of Detective Colby Burns in 75 episodes. In 1987 he won a Gemini Award (a Canadian TV award), as 'best supporting actor', in this series.
His other notable TV appearances were in Side Effects (1995-96) and Sue Thomas: FB Eye (2002-04).

Clark's best known film role by far, is as 'Big Daddy' in George Romero's fourth 'Dead' film Land of the Dead (2005). 'Big Daddy' is the leader of the zombies.  In life, he was a gas station attendant, but as a zombie he is rare because he has an ability to communicate, even learning how to shoot a machine gun! 'Big Daddy' leads the zombie attack on Fiddler's Green and its despotic leader Kaufmann.
